Durags

Durags built for compression

Silk and velvet durags with long tails, flat seams and real compression — the fastest way to lay, hold and keep 360 waves without headaches.

Silk vs velvet — which durag?

Silk glides over the hair and reduces friction, making it the best choice for laying waves and overnight wear. Velvet adds weight and warmth with a premium finish, ideal for daytime wear over a wave cap. Many wavers run a mesh cap underneath a velvet durag for compression plus breathability.

How to get the most compression

Brush in the direction of your wave pattern, tie the durag flat across the forehead with no folds above the eyebrows, cross the tails at the back and bring them forward before knotting. Keep it on for at least 30 minutes after every brush session and all night while you sleep.

Questions

Good to know

Will a durag give me headaches?
Not if it's tied flat and firm rather than tight. Our seams are flat-stitched so pressure spreads evenly across the crown.
How often should I wash it?
Hand-wash in cool water every 5–7 wears with mild detergent, then hang dry. Never tumble dry silk or velvet.
One size?
Yes — every durag has extra-long tails so it adapts from small to XL head sizes.
Can I wear it over braids?
Absolutely. Silk keeps braids and twists frizz-free and protects your edges overnight.
